NEW YORK, May 19, 2015 – The family of Miriam Carey will participate in the #SAYHERNAME Campaign sponsored by the African-American Policy Forum, Inc., remembering Miriam Carey and other Black women and girls who have been victimized by the police, but whose experiences are all too often relegated to the margins.
This evening, we are participating in a private meet and greet gathering with the families and/or representatives of Alberta Spruil (2003), Rekia Boyd (2012), Shantel Davis (2012), Shelly Frey (2012), Kayla Moore (2013), Kyam Livingston (2013), Michelle Seaux (2014), and Tanisha Anderson (2014).
On May 20, 2015, around 1000 hours, we are scheduled to appear for an interview on Huffington Post Live along with representatives’ of the African-American Policy Forum, Inc., to discuss the importance of the #SAYHERNAME Campaign.
Around 1200 hours, we are scheduled to appear for a panel discussion at the New York Law School 185 West Broadway New York, N.Y. 10013, about the importance of the #SAYHERNAME Campaign.
Around 1730 hours, we are scheduled to appear for a prayer vigil in Union Square Park about the importance of the #SAYHERNAME Campaign.
